The Sealy Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is celebrating progress on several key projects and planning efforts that are shaping Sealy’s future. At the June 2025 Board of Directors meeting, members discussed budget priorities for fiscal year 2025–2026 and approved board officers for the upcoming term.

Parking Projects Completed

Two major parking expansions were completed this month, addressing growing infrastructure needs across the city.

  • W.E. Hill Community Center Parking Expansion:  Completed on June 11, this project increased parking capacity from 68 to 102 spaces—a 50% boost to better serve community center visitors. The improvements included engineering, construction, landscaping, drainage, and lighting enhancements.
  • New Downtown Parking Lot on 2nd Street:  Located in the heart of the Historic Downtown District, this lot added 26 new spaces to support Sealy’s expanding restaurant scene and special events. By completing both projects simultaneously, SEDC optimized cost efficiency through economies of scale. Despite weather delays, these parking upgrades mark a big step forward in Sealy’s community development.
